Pont de Passy

This is probably one of my favourite bridges in Paris.
The lanterns, the symmetry, the feeling of simplistic grandeur.

A lovely stroll that I take my visitors to Paris on, is to start from Metro Passy, stopping along the way for a gorgeous view of La Tour Eiffel, and continuing down to wander the Île des Cygnes where you will find the (miniature) replica of the Statue of Liberty. The bridge was renamed in 1948 to commemorate the 'Battle of Bir Hakeim', fought by Free French forces agaisnt the German Afrika Korps in 1942.
